Re-worked 2013 Honda Civic to appear by the end of 2012

Following distasteful and lackluster reviews of the new 2012 Honda Civic, Honda's much-reported refresh of the Civic is coming sooner than we expected. Honda is set to fast-track typical mid-model changes to appear in the 2013 edition of the Civic. These MMC changes include reworking the chassis and suspension, a restyled front and rear end, enhanced comfort, emphasis on interior build quality and including additional standard features. This is Honda's part to achieve a plan to boost US sales by 24% next year. Honda is planning to boost Acura US sales by 43% to 180 000 units a year. Meanwhile the new Civic has topped KBB's annual list of the most researched cars on its website followed closely by Honda's Accord in second place.

2006-2011 Honda Civic Hybrid Gas Leaks

Those who own a second-generation Honda Civic Hybrid may be familiar with a possible fuel leak that has spread through a few models of the venerable compact sedan. In order to avoid a recall, Honda has opted to extend the warranty of the models that have shown signs of small gas leaks to satiate customers. The potential leak exists where the fuel filler meets the tank and possible small leaks throughout the fuel pump. NHTSA is looking into the safety matter. The new warranty Honda will slap on is a 10-year/120 000 mile warranty, far more than the typical 3-year/36 000 mile warranty but less $ spent for the automaker than issuing a recall.

Honda Canada Unveils 2012 CR-V

Honda's 2012 CR-V is set to debut in Canada on January 4th and will start at $25 990, $300 less than the 2011 version while retaining more than $2500 in additional feature value. Honda Canada is also getting an exclusive CR-V Touring priced at $34 990 featuring Honda's upgraded Real-Time AWD with Intelligent Control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and chrome door handles + roof rails. 

Consumer Reports Recommends the 2012 Honda Civic Si ...

but falls short from placing it at the top of the pack. In a recent comparo featuring 11 sports cars, the 2012 Civic Si placed 9th. CR criticized the Si for its vague steering, cheap plastics, jittery ride, noise levels but did say that it had great acceleration, a perfect engine and decent fuel economy. More the reason for Honda to update this model next year ...

Swindon Expansion

Honda has begun the production of the new Civic Euro in Swindon, UK. Production levels are returning to normal in the UK and is expecting a significant production increase next year. Honda UK will also be hiring 500 new employees at the Swindon plant and is successful about the prospects of success in the future.
